The overall film just wasn t for e, but Judd and Shannon are acting the shit out of this movie. Really incredible performances.

I didn't know they did psychological horror anymore

Paranoia 101. Not as masterful as Polanski's Repulsion, but solid enough to stand out from contemporary horror films. It works interestingly, when put together with real conspiracy theories. What if that the was truth? It is so easy to make people look crazy.

from the guy who scared me with Exorcist..gave me this...this movie is awful, long boring and goes nowhere...they think they have bugs on them and in them..and some of the scenarios I thought ok this will get interesting and it did not....this movie is bad

brave, outlandish, disturbing and well acted

A dark movie exploring severe mental illness! Intense! Had my skin crawling! It went south way too fast into la la land, before I even had a chance to like, hate, empathize with any of the characters! FYI 2 more scenes are shown during the rolling credits. If anything they made the film even more confusing!

A good play shouldn't seem like a play when it's made into a film. This movie is obviously a converted play, from Tracy Letts and Exorcist director William Friedkin. The claustrophobia angle is well-produced, but the movie runs out of things to do after a while and ultimately falls flat.

Interesting and effective exploration of paranoia and of the development and contagiousness of irrational ideas. While most of what the characters believe is clearly delusional, the film also seems to assert that the ubiquity of surveillance and the machine-like character of contemporary society tend to foster anxiety and fear. Filled with subtle "clues", most of which are probably deliberate red herrings. Also notable: a rare instance of a long dialogue scene with a clothed woman and naked man.

Whoa. Talk about the ending. Talk about twists. Talk about....I don't wanna say anything to spoil this. Quite good, though. It gets better as it progresses.

I only watched this because of Tek-one. It was a good choice.

Shannon is thrillingly intense in this adaptation of a Tracy Letts play about a couple of people on the edge of society mentally melting down in a seedy hotel room. Judd is equally strong, providing a bracing reminder that she can be a fiercely dedicated actor when there's grit built into the role. The invitation to overstatement built into the piece sometimes compromises its effectiveness, but there's something undeniably exciting about watching acting work that is so brutally fearless.

Too much like a play, not really utilizing any cinematic options; therefore a bit inorganic but solid writing and performances all around.

The praise for this film is beyond me.

A stark and intense look at isolation and paranoia presented in one of the most remarkable films I've ever seen. Michael Shannon and Ashley Judd are sublime in their roles, and the result is a destructive masterpiece made by a master in William Friedkin. One of my favourites.

A movie that literally has you wondering what will happen next for its entire ride. And I'm not sure if thats a good thing or not. And I don't think the movie wants you to know that either. Its full of questions that are left to your mind to be answered and I'm still trying to decide whether I like that or not. The one thing that cannot be taken from this movie is it's superb acting.

Crazy! Great performances all around, and a very strange, disturbing plot. Once the tinfoil came out, shit got real.

Seriously creepy, but worth locking yourself in a motel room for two hours with Michael Shannon.
