The set pieces and art design are probably the best part of this adaptation. However, there are way too many continuity errors, Harris practically yells every single line, several scenes made me laugh derisively (especially Lancelot's introductory scene), and the music just isn't that good. It's passable, but could have been so much better.

Now much as I am a fan of the Arthurian legend, I do have to ask whether this is the stuff of musicals. Very slow in parts to the point of being turgid. The cast work hard with relatively poor material but this takes some concentration to make it all the way through.. Not the greatest take on Avalon

Would have been perfect if it ended at the intermission. The rest feels awkward.

I'm not quite sure why so many think this film is OK. It was directed with the competence of a Chia Pet: shots don't match, no one can sing (sorry, Dick) and everyone keeps looking at the camera. Lancelot's intro song should be a gay/kitsch viral video by now.
