Surprising and rather unexpected film which is charming rather than tough. The battle between a landowner who want's to flood the area to create a dam v a potential oil miner - plague or pestilence eh! Bogarde is out of his comfort zone and better for it. Some surprising casting (Sid James and some of the Dad's Army cast) ... but strangely it works.
