When pornography was illegal men had to work around it by coming up with "bawdy" comedies like this. But the truth is - unless it's the only choice - men aren't interested in laughing w/ erections. Pretentions of profundity also don't mix. In the 60's, several big name talents signed onto this "highbrow" attempt at wank material - presumably to show how progressive they were - but it's porn w/ everything that detracts from porn. The only creativity are all the visual metaphors for intercourse.
