Cheap imitation of an already cheap film (Cannibal Holocaust). While Ferox relies on all the same things that made Holocaust famous (or infamous), Holocaust remains the better film. Nothing much else can be said about it really. I think I enjoyed the characters somewhat more in this film but I definitely enjoyed the score more, that's for sure.

One of the most infamous titles of all time, this is the best known of the Italian jungle-cannibal subgenre and about as violent a movie as you're ever gonna see. Although not as bad as it's supposed to be, with a genuine feeling of fear and unease, it's the gore you've come to see and gore you get -- everything from impaled breasts to castration to brain eating and more -- all presented in a plain, uncompromising manner that makes Herschell Gordon Lewis look like George Cukor.

Ripoff of Cannibal Holocaust. Decent, but nowhere near as good.

On the DVD interview Lenzi says it's his best film. I don't want to see what other crap he made.

The most notorious of Lenzi's cannibal trilogy and actually the lesser of all three films. The parallelism between the jungle adventure and the police thriller doesn't work. Actually, it's a mess. The gore is great.

Must have / seen for Cannibal Freakz. Ferox is with Holocaust the most Important Movie of that Genre. It´s a gore party not more not less. Entertaining for those who love that Genre, boring for the rest.

I don't want to be too harsh as the version I saw had been cut to shreds; a bit like watching a porno with that nasty sex business cut out. However, I'd recommend Cannibal Holocaust as a far far superior alternative.
