Proof that it's more fun to make parody Bond films that to make a serious one,

Nobody much likes this big-bucks, out-of-control spoof of the James Bond series, based on the one novel Cubby Broccoli couldn't get the rights to, but I've always thought it a lot of fun ever since first catching it on TV in the early '70s. With a flying saucer, Frankenstein's monster, an apocalyptic climax (where most of the huge cast is killed off), and Allen in funny scenes he mostly improvised himself ("Let's run amuck, or, if we get tired, let's walk amuck!")

What do you get with 3 directors, a star fired part way through shooting and a barely strung together story line? This madcap zaniness. Genuinely funny in places, bizarre the rest of the time.

a whole host of big names involved, it's actually quite impressive that with all those people involved this didn't turn out amazing. no doubt, the latter half of this is much better than the former, but still the plot is so jumbled and confusing that it's quite hard to like this.

Woody Allen and Jean-Paul Belmondo in the same film. Just, had to be awesome - yeah, no..

Sellers makes for a funny Bond, and there are several attractive Bond girls. But this film was directed by six different people, and it shows; I can recommend it only on the basis of historical interest, since it served as the inspiration for "Austin Powers".

I'm not sure what we were supposed to get out of this one. A few of the jokes were funny, but I'm not sure if they were worth the trouble of sitting through all the incoherence. There were points that I had no idea what was going on. At least the opening credits were pretty cool.

It's amusing, and doesn't follow the book at all, but is entertaining at least.

Well I suppose they did say it was a spoof. Great cast of names but this doesn't quite come alight either in action or comedic terms. Very sixties feel and best when looked at as a snapshot of cinema of the time. - Don't think of it as a Bond film in any way.

Some very funny parts, but overall a very disjointed movie.Come for Peter Sellers as James Bond, stay for Woody Allen as Jimmy Bond.
