The anthology horror movie is a woefully underserved market, and despite uneven segments, Cat's Eye was one of the last good ones.

Horror anthologies are not easy to pull off, but this trio of King yarns should keep fans of the macabre purring contentedly.

Cute cat. The first two stories are better than the printed versions, thanks to great acting and direction. The third story, not an adaptation, suffers due to some suspect writing and dodgy acting. There's something imperceptably compelling about it, but as it stands, it's an inspired but half-realized coke dream.

The Quitters, Inc. section with James Woods is good, but the rest of the film is supremely forgettable (especially the tying-it-all-together-with-the-cat thing at the end, which was really kind of stupid).

I'm a big fan of the anthology-type shows and movies and this one is good, but I've seen better. It's low budget, but I have to note that the special effects are obvious and corny. The three stories themselves are moderately intriguing, with the first one being the strongest.

Revisiting this was a lot more enjoyable than I expected; the first segment may actually be genuinely brilliant. The last segment didn't age as well, but it's the one people remember, and a classic for those of us who grew up in the 80s. The middle chapter is unremarkable, but not awful. If you haven't seen this since you were a kid, it's worth checking out again, at least once.

These 80's flicks are sweet. The frame story of a cat is a bit lame and none of shorts are not exactly horror. The first story with James Woods was terribly comical and though the last about kids breath stealer was not necessarily entertainment it was perfectly set. I liked the most the middle one. That was a pure fun and thrill though the lead did not success till the end of it. All in all a fine time warp to 80's and more or less sold film making.

Mediocre Stephen King short stories usually start strong, with a good idea, but have weak endings. This tendency holds true of the first two of three segments of *Cat's Eye*. In the two weak segments, a cat catalyzes the action (so to speak), but is irrelevant to the plot's resolution. The film hits its stride in the third segment, in which a little girl's pet cat is instrumental to the final action, and does battle an evil elf that lives behind the walls of her owner's bedroom.

I'm a big fan of the short stories "Quitters, Inc." and "The Ledge," so I enjoyed this film. If they had replaced the third story with another classic King short story, the trifecta would have been awesome, but the movie kind of ends on a lower note.

Perhaps I'm a minority here, but I love the last story of this anthology movie. It has kind of a Grimm's Fairy Tale type vibe; one part horror and one part child's fantasy. Plus that animatronic troll (or whatever) scared the crap out of me when I was little. Quitter's Inc is a nice adaptation of King.. and The ledge feels kind of weak, but passable. A good rent if you're a fan of Creepshow.

The pacing is swift, the stories generate sufficient suspense, and the tone remains refreshingly throwaway throughout. Even the multiple in-jokes (e.g., cameos by King's killer car, Christine, and murderous mutt, Cujo) are more self-mocking than self-aggrandizing. This is no _Creepshow_, but it stacks up as an adequate time-filler chiller.
