My main reasons for watching this were for Barbara Stanwyck and to be able to see Ronald Regan in an acting role. Sadly the film turned out to be a disappointment, one that was sluggish and, despite attempts to show a positive portrayal of native Americans, extreme patronising (made worse by the fact that the Indian characters are actors painted up in dark colours). Regan doesn't stand out at all and the Technicolor cinematography managed to make Stanwyck visually ugly, a crime in on itself.
