Summary: Charlie works as a waiter in a local bar, constantly getting in scrapes with his boss, his coworkers, and even the customers. On an afternoon out, he runs into Mabel as she's being assaulted by a thief and rescues the poor woman while her fiance looks on helplessly. Charlie introduces himself as an ambassador from Greece, and the competition for Mabel's heart is on.

A largely unfunny bit of slapstick fighting, with Charlie as a mostly unlikable, rambunctious waiter who seems ready to fight at all times. Because of his more edgy character, his pursuit of Mabel doesn't offer the same kind of sweetness or pathos that comes in a similar and much better early silent, The Tramp.
