hapishane, hapisahne isyani, gardiyan, hamile kadin, umulmadik isler (Görevinin ilk günü kendini bir isyanin ve mahkumlarin arasinda bulan gardiyanin ve yasanan isyanin hikayesidir.) iyi film, fazlaca küfürlü konusma var.
Reminds me of 'Battle in Seattle', of what I can remember of it. The beginning part was good, I was into the film, immersed in what was going on, getting to know the characters, good acting by the two leading actors. It was around the time the wife came to the prison where it fell apart. The 'beating' was terrible acting, couldn't stop thinking about it for the rest of the film. Enjoyable yes, but left a lot to be desired.
In the mist of some great prison movies the resent years (R, Bronson and Un Prophete) Celda 211 has been somewhat forgotten, and what a shame that is. Even though its storyline is a bit over the top and the fact that its probably a good thing to know a little about Spanish politics, the ETA etc. it is still a thrilling film, which keeps you on the edge of your seat. That is supported by some great performances, especially by Tosar, and makes Celda 211 a highly recommendable prison flick!
juan is a prison officer. Accidently he mesh in riot on the jail. And for surrviving he act like a prisner but after sometime he actuly join that group........ awasome movie in my view.
pushed my suspension of disbelief way past the breaking point, but the two leads were great and i really dug that dude who looked like harry dean stanton
Memorable characters and a very strong showing in the first 2/3 elevates this above the average prison movie or crime thriller. For a good while it shows grit and intelligence, and kept me on seat's edge. The plot climaxes too early with a certain key event that occurs outside the prison, and from then on it loses impact. The dénouement was not to my taste but that is so often the case. In spite of the ending this is up there with the best prison movies, Tosar with the best baddies of all time!
Face paced, tense and unpredictable. We have the luxury of watching the events unfold, Juan has to react to them, precisely. An unfortunate US remake of this film is almost an inevitability.
The film is like a freakin' grinder. Swallows you from a side, chews you around with unmatched brutality, and tosses you out from the other side completely exhausted. Every shot boils with scathing intensity. Every scene questions your sanity. It is hard to sit through the movie without flinching and squirming, and remind you this is not a horror film. Cell 211 has two words written all over it. Cult. And Classic.
Bir gunde bir insanin hayati daha ne kadar degisebilirdi? Juan'in hapishane lideriyle abarti hizli yakinlasmasi disinda guzel kurgu ve izlenesi bir film.
Tosar gives the performance that would catapult any English-speaking actor towards international stardom. The rest isn't too shabby either and this is definitely the best Spanish movie since "Todo sobre mi madre".
