Cellular is an engaging film that kept me entertained for 90+ minutes. It's ridiculous at every turn and never takes itself too seriously, but it's a riot and an absolute joy to watch. I wasn't bored at all while watching it, as I was either laughing with it, or enchanted by it. The secondary characters might have been a little bit too chalked full of clichés, but they also get some of the most humorous parts of the movie. Cellular is a complete package that you'll be glad you watched.

Stupid and preposterous, sure, but down-right fun more than anything. Evans is pitch-perfect in the lead, and his charisma alone carries the movie through its over-the-top twists and turns. The supporting cast isn't too shabby either, and director David "Snakes on a Plane" Ellis keeps the thrills coming in a movie that never lets up. Solid popcorn entertainment, with enough strong scenes to make it worthwhile.

A pleasingly tense, funny, lighthearted entertainment-comes-first action thriller, with a charimastic leading performance by Chris Evans. I don't get what's with all the low ratings for this film - I guess people just hate fun these days?

Turn off your brain first. This is a decent flick but none of it is remotely possible, which undercuts much of the tension.

This story is so unbelievable it's almost completely worthless. Luckily Jason Stratham is a great actor, though not one of his best performances here, otherwise this film would have been much worse. But the scenes in the end were sometimes pretty enjoyable.

Actually, not awful if you don't think about all the plot holes and can weather all the hysteria. Chris Evans is engaging--I'd like to see him do something real sometime--and William H. Macy is his usual excellent.

Like The Net before it, Cellular constructs a gripping thriller around a piece of modern technology rapidly redefining our culture. The screenplay is credited to Chris Morgan, but the story was constructed by Larry Cohen, who wrote it while waiting for his previous effort, Phone Booth, to sell. (The guy apparently has issues with the phone company.) It contains positive messages about the strength of family, a mother's love and courageously helping total strangers, even at great personal risk.

This is a great movie about what a person would be willing to do to help a stranger. Quite a bit of action, I'm sure it's unrealistic to some extent but it is a movie so it's forgiveable. It was fun to watch.

If Die Hard 4 really had to be PG-13, it should have been helmed by this team. Like 'Speed', Cellular has some plot holes and contrivances. Thing is, it throws so many creative twists at its own high concept that, by the end of the movie, you really feel the film makers have done everything there is to do with a cell phone in an action movie. Plus, Evans is likable and charming. He goes on to star in Fantastic Four with virtually the same performance, but the difference is, this is a good movie.

The story is not believable, but very riveting nevertheless. Chris Evans plays an extraordinary good Samaritan on a life and death chase to help a kidnapped woman. I liked William Macy in his role. Some of Kim Basinger's performance felt a little forced. Brief cameo from Jessica Biel. Lots of action, excellent music and sound effects, chase scenes, car chases and gun play. It's really hard not to like this movie despite it's plot flaws.

It didn't break any new ground but Cellular is a good movie if you want to spend 90 minutes. Most of the time it plays by the numbers but it has some decent suspense filled moments. The main cast is entertaining but there were times where Basinger really phoned it in. See what I did there? It won't hurt you to watch Cellular. There's a lot worse out there. 3 STARS

A great popcorn thriller: There's the exciting central premise (admittedly dated, offering a few cringe-worthy moments-the final credits in particular), the goofy secondary characters (snobby Porsche guy is fun to love to laugh at), and hilarious well-timed one-liners ("It's a day spa, you fuck!"), with an average plot boosted by a solid threesome of protagonists (Basinger's resourceful victim, Evans' good guy-turned-action star, and Macy's kind-hearted cop-see his saving of the goldfish).

A lot of familiar faces here. Too bad it's awfully acted, the comic relief is unfunny, the music is inappropriate, it's not at all suspenseful, in fact it's completely ludicrous, and it contains nothing else to redeem it.

Ryan receives a call from a panicked woman on his cell phone. The unknown woman Jessica Martin has been kidnapped. She has no idea where she is and she is convinced that she does not have long to live. After his first doubts, Ryan is convinced of the seriousness of the situation. He has to help, he has not a moment to lose; every second counts! Ryan can only hope that his low-battery phone won't let him down, because who will save Jessica when the only line to the outside world is cut?

By the books play of an unoriginal script. Tho the cast is half decent( one of the first big roles of Evans, and almost a decade later he still cant act..but basinger is decent/ridiculously amazingly gorgeous , H Macy is awesome, the savior of the movie, and statham in one of his earliest celluloid roles) the pacing is fine, and the story interesting enough to keep you watching. Scripting's a bit silly sometimes but its forgivable. And man, does J Biel look good in that cameo! God Dayum!!
