This starts off as a typical, if somewhat fantastical, zombie slaughter flick with Rupert Everett as a cemetary caretaker destroying the undead with effortless detachment. Once he meets (the incredibly hot) Anna Falchi, his cozy little routine of zombie killing is upset, and his world deteriorates into an existential battle between love and death. Don't go into it just looking for splatter, this movie has a lot going on underneath the surface (plus some really nicely framed shots of gore).

Great film mixing the weirdness and vividness of Italian horror with humor and distinct characters.

Seems to always be overrated. It's a well-made, funny, surreal horror film. Let it into your head as that, and it'll deliver the goods. It's not so much Citizen Kane, as it is Shaun of the Dead.

Creepy and hilarious B movie. Still had thought provoking moments amongst the madness. What do you mean you thought you could ever leave?! Bwaa-ha-ha . . .

So a man walks into a psychoanalyst's office and says he's had this crazy dream. The psychoanalyst wrote down every detail and made a movie out of it.

God! Was Anna Falchi HOT here??? No, she was the hell itself.

On my first watch I thought this was trying a bit too hard with the philosophical angle, but on giving it another try I found the screenplay much more tight and focused than I had given it credit for, and the lovely cinematography and awesome score very much recall the best parts of older Italian horror. It's really quite impressive.

Highly enjoyable dark fantasy. The writing is terrific, genuinely funny with a surreal plot that shares elements with Brazil (hardly surprising when considering how Soavi and Gilliam have worked together before and after). Everett carries the film very well as the central character Francesco, fleshing out this weird yet natural character. I also adored the set which is absoloutely gorgeous and ties into the film's themes brilliantly. I liked a lot more but now I'm out of room!

Not the usual zombie film in any sense. It's a very surreal and unpredictable film, with equal parts dark comedy and just plain strangeness. Anna Falchi is perfectly cast for her multiple mysterious roles.

A mind-fuck of an existential horror film based on a side character from the Italian comic Dylan Dog. It's hard to imagine how this got made, but I'm very glad it did.

Even if someone were to describe this movie to you and let you know that it is very unpredictable before you see it, I think that you would still be surprised by it to the point of maybe being disappointed.

This movie is a guilty pleasure.

Starts off with a darkly comical bang, but ultimately bogs down into tedious absurdity that leads nowhere. Felt muuccchhhh longer than it was--the miserable ending just wouldn't come fast enough.

Anna Falchi possibly has the best breasts in the universe in this. Everything else fell short of expectations.

I tried to like this movie, and actually did for the first half (the ossuary scene is fabulously ridiculous). Unfortunately, the second half was a bit too jumbled and disjointed for my tastes.

Using the same combination of comedy and gore that make the Evil Dead films what they are, Cemetery Man or Dellamorte Dellamore goes the extra mile by being just that funny, just that gory and just that inventive.
