There is neither resolution, purpose, or even ENTERTAINMENT to this film. All that happens is a series of highly predictable one-up acts between Affleck and Jackson. What happens in the end? Nothing. They just reconcile and shrug, with neither doing lasting damage to the other's life. The bad things they do to each other are completely stale and dull. I can't think of a single reason this film is worth watching.

The first half; in which we are introduced to the idea of two desperate individuals playing an escalating game of cat-and-mouse against each other; is brilliant. The simple formula of vengeful conflict between two individuals holds great promise. However, a lot of interest is lost when the focus shifts to the wrongdoings of an entire law firm. Moreover, the end seems far too "happy" to tack onto the end of such a dark, foreboding first half which promised to build to a shattering climax.
