Summary: Ben Sherwood's intriguing novel is the basis of this ghost story about Charlie (Zac Efron), who is devoted to his brother, Sam, even after Sam's death. As the caretaker of the cemetery where Sam is buried, Charlie has lots of time to commune with the dead. Sam visits frequently to hang out with Charlie, but when Charlie meets a mysterious young woman (Amanda Crew), he must decide whether to move forward or remain trapped in the past.

A sweet movie that really pulls on your heartstrings. It was melodramatic, but not overly. Considering the material, anyone watching this movie should go into it expecting a certain level of melodrama. I think anyone that has lost a loved one can relate to the title character and the themes in the movie. By no means is it perfect, but certainly better than I expected and what the reviews will have you believe.

A pleasant film with a decent, yet predictable, storyline about Charlie who deals with the loss of his younger Brother Sam. It is nice to see Zac Efron in a different and more serious role and he tackles it well, and Charlie was a likeable character. No other stand-outs in the film, though Amanda Crew was also likeable as Tess. Its nothing we haven't seen before so don't expect anyting groundbreaking, but its enjoyable enough and the right audience will easily enjoy it, others simply won't.

Dreck, crapola, rubbish, trash, garbage, detritus, offal, waste...how many synonyms for garbage can you think of? However many it is, they all apply to this film.

The story reminded me of "Sixth Sense". Zac Efron wasn't as insufferable as I thought he would be, and the girl who played his love interest was tolerable.

It's really just lovely. Zefron continues his ascent to a grown up thespian, and Amanda Crew proves the girl in the movie can be quirky and cute without being gawky, or Ellen Page.

Fantasy drama about a young man who takes a job as a caretaker in the cemetery where his younger brother is buried so that he can visit with his brother whenever he wants. tepidly directed, awkwardly acted dud.... comes off as an excuse for Efron to look dreamily at the camera with Windex-blue eyes as he drinks Jack Daniels and cries buckets.

Efron tries to carry this troubled affair, unfortunately the film is weighed down with so much schmaltz that it is impossible for him to redeem it. The plot is egregiously sentimental, with a script that features more lost stares than entertaining dialogue. The only character given a modicum of development is Efron's, and his character is inconsistent and unrelatable. It would be best to avoid this move altogether.
