Horrible, bland and flat remake of a classic. Charlie lives in a EngAmericaLand, as Burton despite his distintive (predictable) style, manages to strip away all that is charming and fun from the story. Depp makes a poor Wonka and even with his best efforts to make the role his own, he never does enough to stop you reminiscing about Wilder and how good he was. Also what the fuck was going on with those bloody Oompa-Loompa songs!? Just awful.

Shit didn't need to be remade, the first movie was dope, this is weird and has a weird digitally duped oompa loompa that freaks me out. Music is good though, Danny Elfman is awesome.
