Summary: It’s 1975, and a young married couple – Vietnam vet Burt and preacher’s daughter Vicki are driving cross-country straight into the heartland of Hell. Here in Gatlin, Nebraska, the town’s bloodthirsty children – led by the boy preacher Isaac and his teen enforcer Malachai – have slaughtered all adults by command of He Who Walks Behind The Rows. Now two new Outlanders have arrived…and The Time Of Sacrifice is at hand. (bloody-disgusting.com)

This version of Children of the Corn tries to take a different course when comparing with de 1984 original film, the characters are very distinct and is a lot more focused in the religion view. The protagonist being a war vet brought something more to the theme and it was a good move, but the bad acting, especially by the non-important characters really killed the mood, and the story drags after 40 min or so, not a bad movie, but it had a lot more potential.

Focuses a lot more on the religion aspect than the original, but something feels wrong about the main characters' relationship. The husband and wife have way too many issues and it creates an unbalanced movie, in my opinion. I like how Burt is a total tough guy, and actually fights the kids (and really messes them up). Overall, the character of Burt really saved the movie for me; I enjoyed it, overall.

I've seen high-school plays that were better on all counts - acting, direction, production, even lighting. This is a terrible film, incompetent in all the ways that count.
