Allthough the images are beautifull, and some of the scene's are cool (especially the scene where time speeds up), the film as a whole felt lacking. Some shots felt as if they where ripped straight out of koyaaniqatsi (and even though the director of this movie was the dir. of cinematography, it still felt cheap_.
Aslo the music was boring and the whole move just didn't provoce thought the way koyaaniqatsi did, So what's left is a compilation of beatifull images, with little substance

Documentary is really a stretch... this is simply an IMAX show-off film; re-released in multiple forms primarily as a monitor/TV sequence. Interesting initially, but becomes a bore after the first 10 minutes or so.

It's like a practice run for Baraka. Some scenes are fantastic.

Even if it's leftovers of Koyaanisqatsi, it's stunningly impressive journey, on maybe a trip, through time and space.

This is really, really pretty. And absolutely nothing else. See it if you like spectacular photography, don't if you like your films to have a meaning or point.

Compared to Baraka, it suffers from the lack of living subjects. Imagine Baraka without the baby chicks, the Balinese dancers, the Butoh actors, or any of the other amazing animals and examples of life elsewhere. I imagine that if I were better acquainted with the history of some of the places shown, it would all be more meaningful. As it is, this is time-lapses of stuff I've seen before in art/history/photo books and it seems like it came off Baraka's cutting room floor.

Simply doesn't work outside an IMAX theater, but it's OK. Better to see Baraka, which is fantastic anywhere.
