Summary: A famous film director returns home to a Sicilian village for the first time after almost 30 years. Overrated epic which is nicely put together but seems a bit thin in terms of plot. The most interesting thing is the moral ambiguity of Alfredo which only comes to light at the very end and casts a more interesting light on the rest of the goings on.
