Summary: The mortal son of the god Zeus embarks on a perilous journey to stop the underworld and its minions from spreading their evil to Earth as well as the heavens.
It was alright. I actually felt a little sleepy while watching it, which means it failed in being the action packed over the top movie I expected. The CG was nice and Worthington played his role well, but I expected something funner.
ger; [Kampf der Titanen - 3D]; ein fischer findet ein findelkind welches sich als perseus heraussstellt und als erwachsener die menschen vor hades retten will.;
Slightly better than mediocre fantasy action adventure. Never feels quite as epic as it should be and Kraken showdown was a little underwhelming. Biggest issue is the bland-tacular Sam Worthington who has no charisma whatsoever. Could have been much stronger with a different lead.
Gode effekter, tåbelig historie, men sådan var den græske mythologi jo. I sammenligning med forgængeren er den et mesterværk. Fed drengefilm for små drenge...
Another summer blockbuster overedited and overproduced in the Michael Bay house style. I don't exactly hate Bay, but these movies getting to be like selectively bred chickens that are so meaty they can't even stand-up on their own. Don't ask me to explain the story to you. Real WTF moment- this film reunites Schindler's List stars Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes as Zeus and Hades respectively!
"Though it faithfully follows the original's plotline, Leterrier's slick entertainment is anything but a throwback--just a concession to the Jerry Bruckheimer school of fast, cheap, and out-of-control visual effects." - Ed Gonzalez
I felt totally betrayed when I saw the comercial ads for this film. Everything in the film was nowhere even near as cool as 300. In fact, it's a piss-poor job of a film. Nearly all the actors were terrible, the visuals were a tad obvious. Like obvious enough you can tell that they did a quick and not loking back at their own work obvious. Even the Krakan scene was too short. That monster you saw in the commercial ad - that's all you get to see out of him. WTF! This movie was such a waste.
In the spirit of "if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all" I will say that this film has nice special effects and I will not talk about the script, the acting, the costumes and most certainly not about the accuracy of the myth being told here.
this was quite enjoyable and with Worthington really turning out fine performances makes this film watchable. The problem i felt was they tried to fit everything/too much into the movie with a little amount of time which resulted in the ending being poor but still worth a watch if you like these types of films!!
I saw this in theatres when it came out in 3D. Being a Greek mythology buff, I thought it would be at least OK, since I have fond memories of the first movie and I always thought Perseus was an under-rated (demi)God in the shadow of Heracles. I learned one thing from this film: hollywood can take anything interesting, culturally rich, and naturally engaging, and reduce it to utter banality and simplicity. Recurrent thought 10 minutes in: "When will this end? I have laundry to do."
I liked special effects on Ralph Fiennes and yes, producer clearly put a lot of effort on the final mega monster. But the story was kid stuff and Pegasus fight reminded too much of Harry Potter. A man fighting titans is a difficult task to make look good.
