I think the reason Clerks I worked so well is because any college-aged loser can see himself ending up in that situation. But not keeping it for 10 more years while still having as many immature jokes. It doesn't work here because there's just no empathy left.

Like Mallrats, it's too contrived and "Hollywood". I don't like conventional, happy-go-lucky, everything works out in the end love endings in this fashion, at least not this obvious or plastic. Some funny gags, but a lot of them felt stale, or maybe leftovers from ten years ago. This is pretty close to crap like American Pie.
