Summary: Five years after Kiarostami's Close-Up, CLOSE-UP LONG SHOT focuses on Hossein Sabzian telling his own story. Far from being an impostor, he communicates his infatuation with the movies and his conception of the 7th Art. He tells how his life changed after shooting the film. He reflects upon his social condition, his desires, his fears, becoming like a mirror in which ordinary people and moviegoers can see their own face. (onlinefilmhome.dk)

Close-Up is a beautiful piece of cinema, but I was left wanting to know more about the character of Sabzian, where psychologically he comes from and how he feels about Kiarostami's film. This short documentary answers all those questions and more. It was released as an extra on Criterion blu-ray of Close-Up, and it is a must see for all the fans of that film, and for those who, like me, was curious to know more.
