Clever at times and definitely a fun ride, although it does drag a bit towards the end. The plot is predictable to adults, but the kids it targets will enjoy the silliness and surreal premise. The film doesn't do much to challenge the genre, although I did enjoy the inversion of the "Hollywood Homely" female lead. The characters are memorable and endearing, and the story is charming in its simplicity.

The animation is fine but unimpressive. The humour raises some giggles but it all gets a bit one-note. Worth watching, though the story arc can't live up to those from Pixar or even Dreamworks'.

Honestly, this is one of the best, most under-rated animation films I've seen in a long time. I'm shocked I didn't hear more about it. It has smart humor, subtleties, and a real artistic vision. Think, WALL-E meets Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Great flick for kids and adults.

Simple and fun, imaginative idea, lovely to look at, suitably-voiced and limited number of characters, plenty of decent jokes... I wish more animated features were like this. Would love to see it on an IMAX screen.

It was predictable, but the execution was to fun and fantastic to question. The art design was beautifully done, and I absolutely loved all the characters; especially that monkey. A funny, original, and well-written movie with the perfect amount of syrupy sentimentality to help carry it through the credits. P.S: I don't remember the book being so playfully epic :) Gummi Bears!!!

Completely boring, predictable and stupid (!) movie with only a few and far between humorous scenes. "Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs" doesn't go anywhere with it's basic premise. Everything we see is out of the book and been done before. I also feel the need to comment on the cheesy and over the top music: It sucks! The whole girl plot is much too "hollywoody". Nothing makes sense here. Only good production values save this movie from an abyssmal rating. PS: The characters suck too.

There was a lot of derp here. The character designs were inoffensive but bland. A lot of things ended up looking kind of ugly due to the difficulty of balancing Flint's hair and the grossness of the decaying food in the final act but at the same time, there are great jokes here. Most of the comedy works and most of the best laughs are visual. Also, judged separately from design or overall film quality, this easily has the best animation of any CGI film to date.

I wasn't expecting anything from an adaptation of a supposedly unadaptable surreal children's short story, but Cloudy provides a bright and entertaining experience with vibrant characters and some genuinely funny moments. The exuberant excentricities of the amiable Flint provide most of the humour and although the plot arc is thoroughly predictable from the title of the movie alone it never really proves to be too detrimental. Mr T is in it as well, which I admit caught me slightly by surprise.

I found it to be truly hilarious and smart, while being suitable for children of all ages. Unlike something like Shrek, where the jokes are written for the adults in the audience, this one appeals to kids, and we find it humorous as well.

This is a children's movie that is clever enough to amuse adults. The story is fairly standard, but many of the characters are so endearing that they transcend their genre and become genuinely interesting. This is particularly true of the supporting characters, who swoop in with a variety of scene stealing gags that keep the main storyline buoyant. This movie also has wonderful art direction, with some truly imaginative environments appearing during the third act.

This might be one of the best and most amusing animations I've seen. I really liked the story which is very original in my opinion. Other than that the characters are funny and deeper than in most animation flicks, the pacing in the film is wonderful and nice to follow(for children and adults) and actually this is just pure entertaining. Just have a look at the hilarious moments and the great scenery and you know what I'm talking about.

Inconsistent writing as at times there would be a deserved laugh and other times not so much. You know how it ends before it starts so its brings nothing new to the table. Actually gets a tad boring and by the third act it becomes a bit of a drag.

It is one of the most absurd mainstream animated films I've ever seen, and it is in no area afraid to stray away from taking the surrealism to its natural extreme. A film that can literally be enjoyed by anyone if they simply sit back, relax and go along for the ride, but the fact that the plot is generically predictable and offers no real punch at all beyond the great characterizations is a bit of a drawback. The sheer amount of hilarious jokes it throws at you makes it worth the watch.

A joke flies at you every few seconds. They certainly aren't all funny, but there's enough of so many types that you're bound to laugh at a good chunk of them (including somewhat meta-jokes about the genre as a whole). The story is as straight-forward as they come, but for a children's movie that's expected. The voice actors bring a lot to their roles, making jokes with their delivery alone from time-to-time.

Poor narrative structure. All main plot points are revealed in first 20 minutes, after that it is just delayed formal expectations. Would have been much better as a short movie. CGI animation is mediocre for these times. Voice acting is decent enough. I am fan of the monkey, though. Kids, don't get fat and be yourself.

While the plot itself isn't, perhaps, the strongest in animated cinema, this still manages to be a razor-sharp, incredibly clever movie with much to offer both kids and adults -- not just in terms of comedy, but also with a real sense of heart to it. It's irreverent enough to play with standard tropes, and intelligent enough to pull it off. Well worth a watch.

Towards the end there are a few gags that are just so incredibly absurd, that you'd laugh out loud if you didn't feel so raped by the pace and stupidity of the story. In a world where more and more children seem to be suffering from ADHD this ain't helpin'.

Mostly clever and consistently funny. I was surprised at the intelligence hiding behind the regressive-adult-children characters: one of the major dramatic sequences was set to The Alan Parsons Project, and the third act quickly turns into a riotous sendup of Mass Disaster films. And Bruce Campbell.
