This is one of those episodes where during the murder scenes at the start you go like "nooo... you're screwing up too much! You'll make it too easy for Columbo! This could have been percet!", and it's really, really weird to see Leslie Nielsen (looking exactly the same as he does three decades later) in a non-comedic role.

Makes you wonder that if Beth Chadwick (Susan Clark) wasn't so bungling stupid to flaunt her new-found freedom so much, after she disposed off of her brother, maybe the murderer actually had a chance of giving Columbo the slip this time. And I think Leslie Nielsen was born old.
