Even the better of the Merrie Melodies tend to plump for fairly predictable jokes. Yet where they might be distinguished by legitimately witty telling thereof, Jones's Compressed Hare is notable for being disappointingly witless. Here, everything is off -- from the jokes being told to the shoddy atmosphere. Basically, it's a bore.
