Summary: An interview mix-up leads a girl aiming for a fashion job to instead be hired for a financial journalism position. Hilarity ensues as she nurtures her shopping addiction while falling for her new boss and trying to win over the fashion editor as well.
"If you gave Bernie Madoff custody of your life savings mere days before the FBI knocked on his door last December, your timing still wouldn't be as wretched as that of Confessions of a Shopaholic." - Nick Schager
It's a silly story, definitely a Chick Flick. Isla Fisher is okay, despite the character so stereotyped, is funny sometimes. Anyway, it is not deep, just a pointless comedy.
I thought it will be ok and kind of like "The Devil Wears Prada" , which I liked, but it's annoyingly sentimental and not funny. Even in terms of fashion it's banal and not that fun.
Mistakes - 1) A woman, yes a woman, who is talking to Rebecca disappears between shots. 2) Rebecca's sunglasses change colour in a scene involving a bride's dress. The price tag on these glasses is also seen...
Ultralight, predictable rom-fluff which lacks charisma and takes all its cues from Devil Wears Prada, Sex & The City, and other chick flicks of the past decade. The script is not particularly funny or exciting. Isla Fisher gives it a go but not a very good go, and doesn't come across as properly sexy, witty, goofy, tormented or anything else. Most of the best moments pop up in the cameo roles from the likes of Kristin Scott Thomas, Joan Cusack and Ed Helms. A waste of time, don't bother.
Filme de sessão da tarde. Vc ri um pouco, se emociona um pouco, se irrita um pouco, se cansa um pouco. Tudo um pouco. Um filme esquecível assim que vc termina de assistir.
