Good performances and premise, but the execution was flawed. The writing and development just seemed very shallow, but I can't say I wasn't interested in the story and characters.

Interesting story - poor execution (lame joke, sorry). While Rockwell was decent, Swank was terribly irritating: she kept me from having any sympathy with her character during the whole movie. The thought of such things actually happening is terrifying indeed - but that in itself does not make this a good movie, I'm afraid.

I quite like this despite the fact that it sometimes borders on sentimental cliché. It's got two very committed performances from Swank and Rockwell (with great supporting roles for Melissa Leo and Juliette Lewis, too) and enough emotional pull and honest sentiment to make for an engaging inspirational drama.

Straightforward interesting well done film. Excellent performances. I was surprised they didn't dig into the bad guys anymore than they did, or mention that Ken died in an (accidental?) fall 6 months after his release. Why was the DA so against not overturning a conviction she had nothing to do with originally?

Sam Rockwell is the most consistently great actor in the business. Overall though, Conviction was released a couple decades too late. I understand that the plot is that of true events, but the build up was way too long for an arc as simple as DNA evidence.

I recently watched All Good Things and some other law suit movies. All i can say law is not accurate most of the time. If someone diggs it there is allways a way to prove innocence or false it. There are lots of cruelty and bad stuff in the world and people's law is not enough to seperate each.

Swank--the most heroic of actresses--battles injustice in this earnest, plodding movie that is almost worthy of her. Sam Rockwell is explosive, funny and dangerous, and Juliette Lewis (with the help of marvelously bad teeth) delivers a memorable performance in her less than ten minutes of screen time.
