Bakshi's take on _Who Framed Roger Rabbit?_. A well-made but ridiculously unfocused fantasy that's neither cute enough for kids nor sexy enough for adults.

It has it's moments, but it could be so much better. You have to remember that this movie really didn't live up to what Ralph Bakshi wanted it to be. Franc Mancuso Jr.( the son of the producer) had the original screenplay rewritten in secret. The product as it is has some major, major plot holes, and only a few worthwhile moments. I personally really liked two scenes, both with bunnies. One where a bunny plays dice and gets scammed, and the other one where a bunny comments about holy and Sparky

What a weird movie... It's pretty crazy that it features Pitt, Byrne and Basinger. I can't even begin to imagine who this is made for! Not for me, apparently.

It's too bad Bakshi's current filmography ends on such a low note. There are occasional hints of workable material but it falls apart almost immediately. If you like to watch messes, though, this one is a doozy.

It tried so hard to be Roger Rabbit and failed miserably.

Bizarre and kind of pathetic film.

I liked this more adult version of Roger Rabbit. It was like a cartoon for adults. And I love Brad Pitt films. You have to go into these movies knowing what to expect. I knew what I wanted out of Cool World, the film delivered, and I was satisfied.

This needed to be rated R, honestly. And Gabriel Byrne needed to not be in it. Like, at all.

Had a HELL of a lot of potential, but executed so many things so poorly. Now it'll probably always be overshadowed by Roger Rabbit, but it's still a must-watch for Bakshi fans. Just some issues: There are constantly little cartoon characters doing things all over the screen, serving no purpose but detracting from the action, and apparently not even existing in the movie space, because they're never acknowledged. The blending of background/foreground/live-action was also often awkwardly executed.

Some interesting ideas, but overall pretty bleh. The animation and real life parts often don't line up completely, which is distracting.

Awesome and still a little nonsensical. The visuals are trippy, at least a good Bakshi film!

This film relies on the Deus Ex Machina far too much. It allows the human to get into Cool World, it allows the doodles to get out, it allows the human hero to not die at the end after he falls from a tall building and it allows there to be a happy ending. Deus Ex Fucking Machina over and over and over. The worst part are the doodles (the cartoon people), they want it to be adult-disney but its just sex, drugs and swearing. So not adult, more teenager.

I preferred Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Messy script, unfunny and boring.

Not one of Bakshi's finest moments. It's a bit of a mess, with a whackier logic than anime, and the plot isn't really that interesting or cohesive. Cool World is a fun setting, but that's about all it has going for it unfortunately.

Bakshi's worst by far. Studio executives take Bakshi's brilliant original concept and turn it into a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" for adults. Nigh-unwatchable.

I have a feeling this would be a much better movie if I did drugs. Unfortunately, I don't. The sad thing is, the premise could potentially make for a good movie. Just... not like this.

not funny. Both the live and animated characters are equally uninteresting.
