Robert Altman didn't start out on the top of his game, but this is passable entertainment in the most commercial and safe means possible.

Though dated, this is more scientifically accurate than _Destination Moon_ and benefits from its low-key presentation and realistic performances by Caan and Duvall.

Not really bad so much as it is boring, but it does get a bit more exciting towards the end. There aren't any Altmanisms in this one except for one shot involving a zoom lens, but it's interesting to see the guy get his start. The finale is kind of worth the watch.

Drama about space shots to the moon may be dated by now, but it has some good moments. If you can be patient through the soap opera of the spacemen's private lives, the finale delivers the goods.
