Summary: Genji and his victorious G.P.S. alliance find themselves facing down a new challenge by the students of Hosen Academy, feared by everyone as 'The Army of Killers.' The two schools, in fact, have a history of bad blood between them. And the simmering embers of hatred are about to flare up again, burning away any last remnants of the truce they had so rigorously observed until now. (Pusan International Film Festival)
best to take these two movies as a "4 hour epic", with a massive and brutal fistfight at the end. enjoyed almost every part of it (the slow draggy scenes tried to inject more storyline into the movie) but the finale wrapped up the whole tone of the movie - punch your way to the top. FLY GENJI !
Less goofy fantasy and more realistic fighting in the second chapter of popular manga adaptation. This is easily the one of the most mainstream films by Miike. Not a single 'WTF' moment. Both movies are best watched back to back. Target audience is teenage boys, so I didn't get from movie as much fun as I would have a few years back.
Com essa sequência, Miike conseguiu realizar o filme de pancadaria definitivo! Gritos, socos, chutes e muito sangue fazem com que Crowns Zero II seja ainda melhor que seu antecessor! Tarantino deve estar aplaudindo até agora...
More serious and therefore less fun than part 1. The main ingredients are still there; a whole lot o' punching, colorful characters, etc, but I really missed that layer of over the top weirdness that made the first one so entertaining.
