My all-time favourite belgian movie. It reminds you of the best years of your youth but also do realize that these times will never return. Excellent soundtrack by Jef Neve.

Frankly, these characters don't interest me. Their social conflicts, inner regrets and mixed ambitions don't mesh with my experience and by spreading it over so many characters the film loses the ability to bridge the emotional connection. Yet, even with that failure, the film remains a compelling social study and even if it couldn't get me to care about them I still felt like I got some insights into personalities that aren't my own. V. Groeningen knows how to get a beautiful shot, but tends to linger on it too long and the script was not interesting enough to justify its length.
