Throws out what made the first compelling - a real anti-hero. Darkman is completely comical this time, a pure super-hero careening from caper to caper. Wretched.

Still watchable thanks to some solid action and the gritty, neo-noir feel, but doesn't possess the brutality, humor, or solid pacing of Raimi's original. The story in the first one had plenty of holes, but in the sequel, it becomes absurd enough to become annoying at times.
