Summary: The Daughter of Darkness is an atmospheric, sub-hallucanegenic venture into the world of the unknown. The enigma facing the young woman (Mia Sara) is the identity of her father. Unfortunately for her she becomes drawn into a small Romanian underworld of brooding menace, darkness, torture chambers and bizzarely over make-overed vampires. The moody undertones and well chosen locations are certainly a bonus as is the comically funny finale. (imdb)

It screams made-for-TV and isn't really that good, but it's got a good idea or two and a decent scare.

While this isn't up to Gordon's highest standards, the offbeat auteur does his best to bring this obviously for-hire assignment to atmospheric life. The result is an occasionally contrived but consistently involving effort highlighted by Perkins's typically quiet but intense perf as the reluctant vampire (with a fanged tongue!).

You would never expect the director of _Re-Animator_ to make a movie starring Anthony Perkins and come up with something this tepid. Hugely disappointing
