A fascinating, textured horror/satire that jumps from obvious subtexts to more fascinating undercurrents, all while offering up enough thrills and kills to satisfy the more action-hungry crowd.

romero kicks ass, as usual. this time he's making a great commentary about american life and consumerism with the whole extended segment about "how to survive if locked in a mall with zombies surrounding you."

An effective look at the breakdown of society due to events beyond our control. I found confusion of the initial scenes in the newsroom to be terrifying, and that's mostly where the horror of the movie lies. The zombies themselves aren't necessarily too scary, but the effect they have on society and the destruction of that society is where the real kick of the movie is.

Possibly the greatest zombie flick ever made and the fact that it was filmed in the mall I go to.

A very innovative action movie. The social commentary is a bit heavy-handed and the pacing is a bit slow, but the plot is ridiculously original and expands hugely on Night of the Living Dead, and some of the first act action is awesome. It starts to drag by the end, but it's still a great film, and in many ways is the reason zombie survival has become the cultural phenomenon it is.

Pretty awful special effects, but once I got used to it, I actually started to enjoy the film. If you're looking for scares, this isn't it though. It's more humorous than scary.

Tons and tons and tons of fun.

This best Zombie film ever made is not actually very scary, but in fact is funny, apocalyptic social satire. The plot is already a classic; small amount of survivors from a Zombie plague confine themselves to a shopping mall with full of shops and plenty of food to enjoy. It would be enjoyable too unless they wouldn't neet to worry about thousands of zombies attempting to get inside the shopping mall to eat them. Full of funny details and comic book violence.

The biting comedic slant on commercialism is well done, and it's quite fun, but it doesn't quite live up to its flawless reputation.

Easily the best zombie movie ever made. I have a sweet spot for social commentaries, however heavy handed they might be. I love this film for the satire, for the characters, for the dialogs. When I visit mall, I often see lots of zombies around me. They have some kind of instinct. They don't know why, they just remember. Remember that they want to be in here.
