A tedious melding of the buddy cop genre and zombies which could have worked but fails. It has moments of interest - an inspired scene where the meat and carcasses in a Chinese restaurant is brought back to life, and Vincent Price in one of his last roles, stand out - but this is an immensely milquetoast and disinteresting film, not helped by all the terrible attempts at quips, Joe Piscopo being the main guilty party with a hothead main character you want to punch.

While the story has potential, mostly this is a dumb shoot-em-up movie.

Top notch 80s action horror with funny one-liners. Fat H.O.G. zombie and scenes in Asian meat shop are alone enough reasons to watch this film.

when it started out i was thinking it was going to be miserably bad, but after williams turns into a zombie i was actually surprised by how much this didn't suck. it's pretty unique in the zombie world removing all horror elements and turning it into an action/comedy. the make up is pretty decent, the story is out there, but tolerable, and piscopo had some decent one liners. it's corny as hell, but pretty watchable.

Sort of like Lethal Weapon but with zombies, only that description is probably a little too highbrow for this film. Features gross make up effects, gunfights, wisecracks and incomprehensible dialogue in the great B-movie quickie tradition. Roger Mortis (Treat Williams), who dies and then is raised, seems to take his predicament in remarkable stride, considering.

Funnier than it should have been, but very, very 80's.

It's a ridiculously stereotypical buddy-cop movie with zombies shoehorned in, plus one or two genuine nightmare-fuel moments.

Not quite as good as I hoped but I will give it some credit for the sequence in the butcher shop - that was pulled off very well, especially for a movie made in 1988.
