Summary: The mysterious man hanging about at the research department of a big TV network proves to be engineer Richard Sumner, who's been ordered to keep his real purpose secret: computerizing the office. Department head Bunny Watson, who knows everything, needs no computer to unmask Richard. The resulting battle of wits and witty dialogue pits Bunny's fear of losing her job against her dawning attraction to Richard. (imdb)

One of the all time great Hepburn and Tracy movies.

Kate Heburn plays a Know-It-All in the research office and Spence plays a mysterious man that brings something even more mysterious along with him. That mysterious thing he brings with him is a know-it-all computer and Hepburn and her co-workers feared that it will make them and their brain obsolete and useless. It's good classic, light on the comedy but you got the talented Tracy, Hepburn, Joan Blondell and Gig Young in one movie!

hepburn did not age well, and tracy did, but looks about ten years older than he is, be that as it may this is still one fine romantic comedy. it shows working class' fear of (and hopfulness of triumph over) being replaced by the computer age. this may fail in being understood by the times now, but is well written and acted enough to make a solid movie.

Great performance from Hepburn. Kinda funny today to look back at the "electronic brain" technology presented in this film; we've come a long, long way.

You have to seperate the acting from the (now very dated) plot to appreciate this film. Some obvious chemistry speeds the story along although the humour and style is somehow more stagey and obvious than I remember. Enjoyable as one of Hepburn and Tracey's best outings or potentially as a social commentry on the introduction of technology. Candy floss - sweet but insubstantial
