Nelson very good (in his debut!), and Buchanan is as always fun, distinctive vocal style and all. Gets off to a decidedly shoddy-looking start, but it all perks up once Ed makes his appearance (and he and Allison begin their rapport). Actually, the whole cast is quite good...and the script features a few funny lines as well; all of which might tend to make you forget that the plot/situation makes little sense, if any.

Buchanan gives his patented folksy perf as the town doctor; Carlisle is the puzzled sheriff ("Doesn't make sense -- a hunk of beef killing Dr. Marx!"); and Allison and Crane (of "Rocky Jones" fame) play a couple whose lives are disrupted by the seemingly helpful Nick Richards, an ancient conjurer's mysterious "nephew".
