Cute and charming with a reminiscent effect. "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is a hilarious family film with a refreshing take on childhood. The comedy was awesome and uniquely crude and Rowley's knight costume was amazing. In the end, the only low for me was the weak acting from the adults of the cast. P.S: The theater I went to had reclining seats, Zoo-Wee-Mama!

A cute movie to which anyone that's been a kid before can relate. There are some genuinely funny moments and a nice, but sometimes overstated, lead performance from newcomer Zachary Gordon.

A film you would expect to see on TV in the morning, when the program for pre-teen kids is on. It is not horrible or anything, in fact, it's quite good for the kids, but I have no idea what was my reasoning behind watching it.

The dishonorable, even dastardly hero, or better say antihero, can be charitably said to have a lot of growing up to do. But whatever lesson the target audience may take away, actual grown-ups can appreciate the spectacle in the full knowledge that the growing-up in many ways and in many cases never gets done. The universality of the character extends way beyond his age group. Gordon is, for all the character's faults, vulnerable and sympathetic in the title role.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a stylish little story not afraid to be squeaky clean. Think "A Christmas Story", and you'll understand what type of movie it is. There aren't a lot of ba-hah laughs here, but there is plenty of cuteness that will make most anybody grin. Recommend for the entire family.

Much like the book it's been derived from, the movie is a wonderful family-comedy that can be appreciated by both adults who were once junior-highers and pre-teens entering that stage. I laughed out loud through a lot of this and found the young actors to be spot-on. 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' is clever, witty, and charming to the core.

Does a 12-year-old audience in general identify with spoiled, egotistical, treacherous and morally reprehensible anti-heroes? No, I don't think this genre works that well with a douchebag protagonist. Whether your age is nearer 12, 24 or 48, stick with the all-natural taste of "Freaks and Geeks"; this movie is as artificial as a CGI piece of processed cheese stuck to the school playground.

Family comedy based on the graphic novel of the same name about a boy attempting to navigate the the treacherous middle school years. A bit of harmless fun. It has charming actors and a sweet story with a predictable amount of gross-out and body-function humor sprinkled throughout.

It was a decent kids film, I guess. It doesn’t really cover any new ground in terms of stories for children, but it’s presented in a witty, fun package. It did have a couple of genuinely amusing moments. The lead actor was likable enough, even if his character was kind of a dick. All the other kids were fine too. The ending felt a little rushed though, and there was some green screen work that literally offended me. Still, I’ll probably check out the sequels.

It's a pretty decent adaptation of the book. People say they don't really like the main character, but have they actually met someone in middle school? The majority of them are more worried about status than anything else. It's not like he doesn't really learn his lesson by the end. I got a decent amount of laughs out of it, and Steve Zahn stole the show when he was on screen.

Good: Wimpy kid's friend is nice; like the newspaper girl, good actress and character - Bad: everything else, main character is unlikable, acts like a self-important prick...one reviewer said it best: "Diary of a Rotten Kid", was hoping he'd get beat up, parents are bland, movie is unfunny, cheese is the lamest plot device.

Sweet story about 12 year olds entering middle school. Chloe Grace Moretz is very cute in this. The entire movie has an awkward sweetness to it. Full of familiar childhood moments and adolescent angst. Zachary Gordon performance was good, as the younger brother picked on incessantly by his older brother and most of his peers. Full of humorous and unexpected moments. Rachael Harris is awesome as the mother, and Steve Zahn is a great father.
