when dick tracy was brought back to the big screen in the 90's it was all my generation had been exposed to, now going back to this the plot is simplistic and tedious by comparison. there are better presentations of tracy out there, even from the 40's.

Made at a time when Lang, Preminger and Siodmak were pioneering with film noirs that made crime and investigation plots not just palatable but wondrous, trite films like Dick Tracy vs. Cueball can only seem slight -- if not totally irrelevant -- by comparison.
