Summary: When poor girl Maya (Manju Warrier) is selected to be adopted as the heiress to the Udayapuram Palace, Maya's family causes misunderstandings between Maya & her cousin/lover Appu (Jayaram) & carts her away to the palace. Appu follows suit & gets into the palace pretending to be the Maharaja Udaya Varma's long gone nephew Veerendran. Then, the real Veerendran (Biju Menon), a rowdy, shows up & demands Appu's help in stealing the royal crown of the palace, in return for helping Appu get Maya back. (by iceblox)
