Technically proficient, with decent acting, a pleasant soundtrack, and an interesting setup. Edoardo Ballerini and Danny Aiello clearly put in the best performances. But somehow the film never really comes together into something very involving. The gangsters aren't that threatening, the romantic subplots aren't that appealing, and the food doesn't look that great.

at the beginning you would think that it's just about a restaurant, but this movie has so much more. i've always been a sucker for both john corbett and danny aiello, and they both proved why in this movie.

I give this movie credit, it mostly took place all in one night in a restaurant but they kept it fast-paced and entertaining.

The film starts with many individuals trying to catch up with their dreams. They all work and attend a popular restaurant, the running of the waiters and the rushing of the chefs works nicely with the pressure of the many and often obnoxious customers. Slowly story trends begins to emerge. Mob murder, the owner is a gangster, competing group is collecting debts and is forcing in on his territory and the main chef is obsessed with his future and of cooking. All plays surprisingly out in the end.
