It's like two movies rolled into one. The first half is a teen comedy about a troubled youth who gets in trouble and meets the girl of his dreams. The second is Rear Window meets Scream meets every other horror flick you can think of. The first part is legitmately good and it makes the movie worth seeing overall but the second half is so uninspired it's annoying.

Pretty much a poor man's Rear Window. While the first half is a complete teen comedy, it quickly turns into a ludicrous, half-assed slasher flick with several cheap thrills and twists. I was bewildered about how this switches over constantly between both genres. However, it has its own share of great moments, like Labeouf's acting and the build-up. Overall an enjoyable popcorn thriller.

Lazy spoiled insolent repulsive slimeball teenager discovers friendly neighbour is re-enacting Saw in his surprisingly well-hidden batcave. Except if this were Saw, the snotty brat would have been brutally eviscerated in the first 10 minutes of the movie. But instead (because this is a Hitchcock remake and everything) he saves several lives, gets a police pardon and seduces his nubile neighbour. Entirely ridiculous movie, I feel dumber for watching it.

Be prepared to be beaten over the head with product placement. Honestly I've never seen so much so blatantly packed into a film. Now as far as the film itself it's got it's fair share of cliches. Oh who am I kidding. The last half hour is basically cliche after cliche after cliche. I actually broke out laughing when our killer came out of the darkness and grabbed a hostage because it was just so ludicrous. I'd give this one a miss.

Nice script and good ideas. After some point it becomes too passionate to be a teenslasher but overall film is good & Shia LaBeouf is really the best actor of his generation.

I enjoyed the way the movie straddled the line between thriller and teen comedy in the first half, but the ending chapters are by-the-book slasher cliches. However, they're pretty well executed, even if they do get too intense and too over-the-top a little quickly. I just wish it had had maintained its early subtlety.

Could easily be described as 'The Girl next Door' meets 'Halloween'. Whereas this movie starts off as the cliche lovestory between a perverted teenage boy and his hot neighbour, things start to speed up after about 50 minutes into the movie. And although it has a lot of those typical 'slasher'-movie gimmicks (like the arrogant killer who doesn't seem to find it necessary to actually RUN after his victims), I found it quite an enjoyable watch.

Completely unoriginal and dumb as fuck. "Disturbia" is simply a shit film, that is poorly performed and badly put together. With no suspense and no atmosphere, the terrible ending is a suitable climax to the weak plot. Total trash.

It's absurd to compare this to Rear Window. Sure they both have a guy stalking neighbors from his window, but that's as far as the similarities go. I still remember enjoying it the first time I saw it as a teenager. Not so much during the second viewing.

Cut-rate cut-rate spin on REAR WINDOW is a competent but largely dull thriller with LaBeouf, Roemer and Yoo's abrasively unlikable team making it difficult to become invested in the drama and suspense. It's not a back-handed compliment to suggest that it's Morse who steals this and makes the film watchable, with a genuinely creepy and unsettling performance - it's a shame the film uses him too sparingly, and too obviously at the finale.

I can't fairly reason why I love this film so much to anyone; I can barely reason it to myself--however, I do know the love is genuine. Maybe its just nice to see 90s horror movie cliches next to 00s horror movie, as Hitchcock's Rear Window is recreated in the suburbs with teens. Stupid, fun movies come out all the time, it's just that Disturbia is the only one I've seen that I consider more fun than stupid. Or something like that.

A surprisingly tense teen thriller sees Shia LaBeouf in this modern retelling of "Rear Window"(1954). When a teen recently placed under house arrest begins suspecting his neighbor of being a wanted serial killer naturally drama ensues. David Morse plays opposite LaBeouf as the seemingly normal but menacing neighbor great as the very realistic nightmare for these teens.

A more or less direct update on Rear Window, Disturbia is a surprisingly well-done and well-acted film. The film doesn't exactly live up to the original, but it does a good job of cribbing some of the elements that made Hitchcock's classic so great.

Shia LaBeouf... yeah... I normally don't like the guy. In this movie though, I think he found where he needs to be. A punk, criminal kid who is under house arrest and spying on his neighbors like the peepin' Tom that he is. Carrie-Anne Moss did a fine job as the mother, although her part was pretty small. Sarah Roemer stole the show as LeBeouf's love interest. She is just so very beautiful and charming. A lot of "make you jump" moments in this but the script was a little thin. Fun time though

Poorly written film brought to life with terrible acting. The scares are non-existent and Morse's villain is comically over the top. Roemer's a tasty bit of eye candy but she's not worth 90 minutes of boredom.

If your the type of guy who likes to sit down and watch a movie just for entertainment, then this is one of the better ones in the past little while. LaBeouf is also fantastic in this. The film isn't bad, but they tried to stay dedicated to the Hitchcock classic Rear Window early on, and eventually made its way into being a slasher film, and it was just stupid.

One of the most enjoyable teen-thrillers in recent memory. The characters are all fun to watch, especially LaBeouf who settles well into the role. At first a teen comedy, then a thrilling mystery, then a nifty slasher- "Disturbia" combines plenty of great elements to make for a simple entertaining ride. I was actually quite impressed by it.

Très belle surprise. Shia LaBoeuf m'a bluffé. Quelle assurance, quel charisme !

The obvious comparison is Rear Window. In some ways this is more entertaining, but also more stupid. There's a lot of technology and style that will probably date the movie pretty badly. Shia LeBeouf is pretty good, he does a good job as a leading man. David Morse is good as the serial killer, and Sarah Roemer is hot enough as the hot girl, although she seemed to not care that he was watching her which is a bit worrying. Overall it's an entertaining teen thriller.

A tightly-scripted and entertaining teen remake of Rear Window that wins it's fair share of thrills and chills and laughs.
