Good, and weird. Not as gory as advertised.

I've heard so much about this and while I was watching I was wondering if I'm watching the right film. Surreal? Not. Weird? Maybe a little bit. Lots of violence? Only few scenes with some blood, but nothing really gory, maybe scalping might've been violent for more delicate viewers. It was rather straight-forward, quite heavy-handed (what's going on in "torture" scene, is this bat and armadillo supposed to eat him or has he a strong phobia for small creatures?) 2 hours of western boredom.

A nightmarish and hallucinogenic western. Relentlessly brutal and ugly. A minor classic.
