Tries to be ground-breaking in its insight into prison life, but doesn't quite succeed for me.

This is an updated Scum except that nothing has really changed. I would have prefered more character development and insight. The abrupt ending was effective.

A great gem of a film, whether you enjoy it or not you will not forget it

Not a movie about prison/juvenile prison life. No bigger message than the characters themselves, shown through the angle of bullying and anger, walking the fine line between fear, respect and self-esteem.

I left this bleak prison drama with the feeling that I had seen many of the same scenes in other movies, dozens of times. This is a well-directed film, with strong characters, but the "juvie prison" genre may be nearing the point of exhaustion, with no new directions or conflicts to explore.
