A pretty bad movie but worth a once-through for the insanity sprinkled liberally throughout: The dance numbers, which range from surreal-insane to creepy-insane. The Stupid Bass Tricks. Gems of dialogue like the father promising to "wail the living tar out of" his daughter. And the Treniers' performance... Well, let's just say if I were trying to convince white middle-class parents in 1956 America that rock'n'roll is not a threat to their teenage daughters, I might have chosen a different tack.
