McLaren throws dots on the screen, scores them to a rhythmic pulse and, almost inexplicably, manages to make Dots a clever, engrossing miniature experience. There's nothing revolutionary in anything he does, but depending on which work of his you see, you might find yourself at least slightly compelled.

Cute, and in a good way

It's hilarious and there's a real beat to it.

The stream-of-consciousness randomness of this is unappealing and not that impressive.

McLaren has done better musical abstract animation than this, but I love this very short one too. As usual, his visualization feels very "right".

They're dots and they have a beat. Nothing groundbreaking but kind of cool.
