If you ever wanted to know how to make car crashes boring, watch this film. This film should be disseminated throughout the population of the backwoods America to undo the stranglehold of NASCAR.

Harlin re-edited Driven to sideline Stallone and Reynolds in favour of the younger, and thoroughly less interesting, actors. As a consequence, we are left with milquetoast characters embroiled in a boring love triangle that plays like a lame soap opera, so the car races are all sound and fury signifying zip because we have zero emotional investment in their lives. The sound is also badly mixed, rendering sections of presumably poorly written dialogue inaudible over loud racetrack noise.

Driven was a fun movie. The plot of the movie is pretty simple. Young driver needs a experienced driver to show him how to focus on the drive. The movie goes into a lot of the pressure drivers feel when they go from minor races to major teams that expect results. Burt Reynolds, as always, plays a great jerk. He is good a being passionate, even with a role that might not have challenged him much. Sly was alright. I have never seen him in a movie and thought he was amazing.

Harmless, disposable drama finds Harlin delivering the goods during the racing scenes, and a likable cast doing their best with the thin material handed to them; so little is given to Stallone and Reynolds that it is unclear what their true relationship is, or why it was necessary to make Reynolds so ostentatiously wheelchair bound! Ticks off all the underdog cliches in a way that is a little monotonous, and hurts itself by never establishing any dramatic tension between any of its characters.

It has its moments but that doesn't make it good.

Pretty boring and silly.

Many stars but no real acting or action. The characters had little or no substance. Maybe you needed to be a part of the racing scene to understand. I did like the in car camera views though.

Overall enjoyable flick, coming from a fan of the CART/Indycar series for a long long time. The story is probably the weakest part of an otherwise good film.

What a superficial movie. Someone really needs to show Renny Harlin how to get this thing edited properly.

A pretty nice little message movie that is occasionally really stupid, stoops easily to T & A for transitional sequences, & has some very cool crash footage.

OK in my country this film was translated Formula 1, and I was so eager to watch it because I'm fan F1. And my God, WHY?! They maybe, I don't know must show this Driven parody or something...but it isn't... It is just so bad movie that wherever I remember some scenes from this movie I want to kill half population on Earth including me.

Am I proud to share the same nationality as the director? .. No.
