A great movie for its time and it has some classic Jackie Chan with Woo-ping Yuen choreographed action but the entire movie feels very mediocre. The slapstick gets trite after awhile but at least the fighting is of course good. Even though this movie was a large part of his success as an action star Jackie Chan surpassed it by leaps and bounds not very long after.

One of Jackie Chan's best movies. Anything with drunken fighting is going to be badass, and you'll not be let down.

Entertaining and the martial arts are impressive, but the dubbing for Chan is so annoying and whiny that it curbed my enjoyment of the film by about 30%.

Couple my love of great martial arts in film, with my intense interest in the drunken fist style and you have my interest sir. Not to mention Chan in his heyday...Damn this is a fun film.

I'm not a huge Chan fan, his movies are always so goofy and the physical humor, while admittedly technically impressive, doesn't do much for me. Chan's lead isn't all that likeable, but the choreography is nice and the film's fast pace keeps it pretty entertaining.

Classic Jackie, my personal favorite of his films.

This movie has some great action scenes with the drunken style of fighting. Very unlike any of Jackie's other fighting styles. Some of the dialogue was really cheesy and it looked like the movie was dubbed even though I watched it in Cantonese, but not annoying to the point that it took anything away from the movie.

Similar to Snake in Eagle's Shadow (most of the actors are the same) but with a better plot, and more convincing fight sequences. A really fun movie to watch, and a joy to see Jackie Chan at such a young age.

lol. I'd have no problem rating this higher if the filmmaking wasn't so terrible. All praise goes to the choreography in the fight scenes & the wonderful wackiness that is a Jackie Chan martial arts movie.

Sister Hu technique eh? One of the funniest final fights of the genre.

The film that would define Jackie Chan's career, and was even better than the tremendous "Snake in the Eagle's Shadow", released by Golden Harvest the same year. Everything is on display in this classic; terrific, gorgeous, and often funny fights, insane and hilarious training montages, bizarre and deadly opponents, Simon Yuen as the ultimate "old master", Hwang Jang Lee as the perfect evil villain, and Jackie Chan mixing humor and choreography seamlessly throughout. Truly a masterpiece.

Doesn't hold a candle to the sequel.

Wonderful introduction to the comedic side of Chinese martial arts movies. Jackie Chan is always a blast to watch. The dub is entertaining, to say the least.

While thin on plot, it's still very entertaining with its fight scenes and the fact that it's silly without being ridiculous.

Excellent, Funny, and Over the top awesome action kung fu film with very developing characters and impressive action scenes that beat even todays standards! Great film!
