This is my first exposure to the "Ant and Aardvark" cartoon series of the 60s, and it's not bad. The Ant has a cosmpolitan wit, and the Aardvark is an old Jew in all but species; John Byner's enthusiastic voice work is a big plus. The material is bascially in the same vein as the Roadrunner-Coyote or Sylvester-Tweety cartoons, but with a more vaudevillian tone. A nice bit of fun.

Where there are sunny beaches, there are humans. Where there are humans, there is food -- lots of it. Where there is lots of food, there are ants. Aardvark, however, just absolutely positively has to pursue the same hepcat Ant he chases in every other A & A cartoon... and just as unsuccessfully. By now, this series is starting to look like some sort of sadomasochistic love story. Aard is evidently screwing up on purpose, for he loves the Ant. Maybe that's been the real comedy all along
