Kind of a rip off when considering it is a condensed, censored version of "Planet Earth", but the visuals are astounding. Plus, I can't complain about a movie wanting to get children to care about the environment.

Edited from the tv series "Planet Earth" this documentation shows you pictures you have never seen before. Simply stunning. But not as much focus as the episodes of Planet Earth.

Reviewing the US version, narrated by James Earl Jones. I'd love to hear Stewart's version, but Jones was great, too! Most of the info & imagery has been told & seen before, but Disney did a wonderful job of showing in a new way. The cheetah scene is breathtaking & achingly beautiful! & the images of earth from space are incredible! Also, some good nuggets of info that were new to me & the way global warming was discussed was very factual & not offensive to either perspective (IMO). Must see!

Not the same experience as just watching planet earth, but it's amazing to see all these shots on the big screen.

I'm a little disappointed with how much footage is recycled from Planet Earth, but it's still enjoyable. Looks gorgeous, of course.

Some sequences are very beautiful. I wish Disney had stuck with David Attenborough (who is as much a natural treasure as the animals) instead of going with Mufasa. Also, the film got pretty tedious after the umpteenth slow motion attack sequence and the over-emphasis on how long and hard and difficult migrations are. I got the gist of that from March Of The Penguins and Winged Migration, thanks.

To be honest there was more new material in the film version than I had anticipated. But to be frank, Earth is just a Disneyfied version of the "Planet Earth" TV series. It's still very beautiful, but I prefer David Attenborough's narration, and I feel there is more power and content in the TV series. So if you don't have a lot of time, do see Earth as it contains some of the best images of the series. But the series is definitely supreme.

Condensed and simplified. The magnificent (re-cut) imagery can only go so far to maintain the viewer's interest, given the paucity of scientific content. This can safely be skipped in favour of the original Attenborough series.

A very superficial lesson in biology, but I enjoyed it immensely for the beautiful images. I suppose general audiences don't want much more rigor than this anyway.

Planet Earth is terrific but this doesn't live up to its roots. The narration is damn near soporific most of the time and feels very neutered in content, clearly aimed at children. The editing of the various footage lacks cohesion as well going halfway around the world without any cues. The footage itself is still fantastic, though, fantastically shot and with scenes that would be breathtaking in any context. So it's still pleasant and enjoyable, but nowhere near its full glory.

Maybe I have watched too many nature doc by the BBC done by the same team of people, but I noticed that some of the clips looked familar. Still, a very lovely doc to watch, even if just to see the animals. :D

A condensed, roughly censored and cut version of the series Planet Earth, but this is good. Global Warming, tropical rainforests, sandy deserts and ocean waters are all here rolled up into one film. It's good, but everything is shown on TV raw. I would recommend watching it on cable.
