I love Bruce Springsteen, so it's jarring to hear not-as-good soundalike music, especially when in the film it's not only incongruous with the time period but it's patently obvious the actors are syncing. The film never builds up any momentum or tension, the individual band members don't have much in the way of individual personalities, and the ending is incredibly anticlimactic. It's a shame, because the idea has a lot of potential.

Great movie about the making and downfall of a band. Jersey shore circa 1960s. Actually filmed in and around Wildwood to Atlantic City. Phenomonal ending.

A pretty good movie. I thought the acting was pretty good especially from Pare and Berenger. I actually forgot that Berenger was in this. Decent music and a pretty good story. It kind of makes me want to read the book and see how that is. Not overly phenomenal because the movie does get a little slow to watch, but still worth giving it a chance.
